After a terrific weekend at Sebring in December, we were eager to return
in March to kick off our 2009 racing season with
Hamish Somerville and his
Lola T212,
Paul Alexander
with
his
Elva Mk7S,
John
Harrold with his
Chevron B36, and Mr.
Chapman,
himself,
back with his
Super 7 Lotus
(above) after a less than
auspicious debut in December. |

"The Open Wheel and
Championship of Makes race 2, was a hard fought race between 2
cars in the 3CS class
fighting for 1st in class and 1st overall. At the finish, Hamish
Somerville in his
'70 Lola 212
prevailed. Roy Walzer in his #8 '70 Chevron B16 Spyder took 2nd overall
and 2nd in class.
Austin Armellini
driving a '91 Shelby Can-am #69 won the C3 class and placed third

"The last race of the
weekend was the Vintage/Historic Production race 2. Paul Alexander
and Robert Boller had
a good race between them for the overall win and the class win. Paul
Alexander in
the #114 '64 Elva MK
7S took the win in class 2C, with Robert Boller taking 2nd overall and 2nd
in class
with his #95 '63 Lotus
23. Taking the win in class 3K was #59 Frank Beck in his '72 Porsche
914/6, who
placed 3rd overall."
