"The Group 9 UBS-Mike Stott Sprint saw Paul Flower’s ’79 Toleman TG280 lead the pack into turn one and Peter Gulick, on a real charge in his ’78 Chevron B42 was third.
The next time by, in a bold move, Gulick took
Neviaser on the inside at turn eleven and by the Carousel was right on
Flowers tailpipe. Gulick chased Flowers for about a lap and a half,
finally got by, only to have the gearshift break, putting an end to his
race. With Gulick out, the order was Flowers, Neviaser, and Harris to the
